Adjacent to the Showman’s Caravan are the showers, toilets and laundry facilities. The Powis Arms Pub is also next to the campsite.

The Shepherd’s Hut

Sleeps 5
£50 per weekend £85 per week

Shepherd's Hut

Originally a Roadman’s Wagon, complete with original lamps, this recently refurbished caravan is hidden in the Arboretum, amongst the splendid and ancient trees; it is only accessible by foot and is therefore ideal for the agile and adventurous wanting to get away from it all.

The caravan is a small and cosy space with 5 bunks, any of which fold up when not required to allow extra living space. Light is supplied by oil lamps. There is a wood-burning stove for warmth and a twin ring gas hob for cooking. There is no oven and no electricity or running water. An initial supply of water is provided but you will need to carry your own water to top up the supply during your stay. A short walk away there is a long-drop lavatory (or earth closet) - this is to remind in particular Aussies and Kiwis of home!
